Croperation, moving Australian cotton into the future

Croperation is bringing one of Australia’s most important agricultural industries onto modern infrastructure, with one connected platform for trading, moving and managing cotton.

A world-class crop that runs on outdated tools

Australian cotton is known around the world for its quality, yield and responsible growing. Growers across New South Wales and Queensland produce a crop that is mostly sold overseas, so every bale passes through a long chain of contracts, classing, warehousing, shipping and settlement before it reaches a spinning mill.

The tools behind that chain have not kept pace with the crop.

Many teams, many versions of the same transaction

Much of the commercial and operational work still happens in spreadsheets, emails and documents. Traders, warehouse providers, logistics teams and finance teams often work from separate records. Every change in quantity, quality, price or delivery has to be chased through by hand.

One platform from contract to settlement

Croperation is an Australian commodity trade and risk management (CTRM) platform. It brings the three core parts of the cotton supply chain together, so a change in one area shows up everywhere it matters.

Inventory Management

A trusted view of physical stock, from receipt and storage through to allocation.

Logistics

Every movement is planned, tracked and linked back to the contract it fulfils.

Trade & Risk

A clear view of contracts, pricing, commitments and exposure across every position.

Every role sees the same position

Traders, operations, warehouse, finance and management teams each see exactly what they need. Everyone works from one source of truth, so no team ends up with its own version.

Traders

A connected view of contracts, pricing, commitments and positions helps traders understand what has been bought, sold and remains open.

Operations teams

Inventory, allocations, logistics and exceptions can be managed as part of the same transaction lifecycle.

Warehouse and logistics teams

Task-focused workflows support the receipt, storage, preparation and movement of physical goods.

Finance and risk teams

Commercial and operational information can be traced and reconciled through a shared platform.

Management

Connected reporting provides greater visibility across activity, commitments and performance.

Built with the industry, for the industry

Upgrowth has partnered with Croperation from product strategy through to platform delivery. We worked with industry participants to understand how information moves from contract to settlement, where teams double up on work and where disconnected systems create uncertainty. We then designed the product around those relationships.

Supply chain research with cotton industry participants

A supply chain that is faster to run and easier to trust

A shared view of contracts, inventory and fulfilment

Integration with operational and accounting systems

Traceability for every bale across its lifecycle

Better coordination between trading and operations

Less manual reconciliation at the end of each transaction

Starting with cotton, built for what comes next in ag-tech

Croperation is designed to expand into new workflows, commodities and markets. Cotton is the starting point, and the platform is setting a new standard for how agricultural commodities are managed in Australia.
