What is VEME?

VEME is a dual-sided marketplace for private car buyers and sellers in Australia. The platform compresses a typically high-friction transaction, involving strangers, payment risk, identity checks, and vehicle compliance paperwork, into one digital, trust-first experience.

The problem VEME solved

Private car sales in Australia have historically involved significant risk:

• No secure payment mechanism between strangers
• No centralised identity or vehicle verification
• No clear compliance or ownership transfer workflow
• High potential for fraud on both buyer and seller sides

VEME's goal was to eliminate these friction points through a platform where trust is embedded at every step.

Platform Architecture

The result is a two-platform system:

1. Customer Platform — A polished mobile/web experience for private buyers and sellers, guiding them through each step of a secure transaction.

2. Operations Platform — A back-end dashboard enabling the VEME team to manage, monitor, and scale transactions nationally.

Both platforms are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure and interconnected via a secure services architecture.

Outcome

VEME launched nationally in Australia as the country's first platform to consolidate private car transaction compliance into a single digital product. The platform enables Australians to buy and sell used cars privately with the same safety and confidence expected from a licensed dealership.
